A New Church...

Karl and I have been searching since we moved out here to the East Coast for a Lutheran church. Apparently there are not many Lutheran's in southern New Jersey because we have not had a lot of luck. We found one but it was an hour north of us and as much as we want to get back into going to church we don't want to drive an hour, go through an hour service, then drive another hour home. I just don't think Max is ready for all that!

Luckily we were out driving one day coming home from somewhere and we passed a church and I have started looking at every church I see while out driving, so I casually glance at this one and at the last minute I see it's a Lutheran Church....I yell to Karl and I do a U'ie and park in the parking lot to make sure what I saw was correct....it was! So we wrote the name down and what time the service started and we were on our way.

Well as you all know last weekend we were in Michigan for Carl & Tree's party so we decided that this weekend we would go. Sunday morning I got up with Max and we played for a bit, had some breakfast and then I put him down a little early for his nap so that he could get some sleep in before we had to leave. Normally he doesn't go down for his nap till close to 9 am...well I got lucky because at 8 am he was asleep. I did a bit of work on the computer, Karl was still sleeping, and then at about 8:30'ish I started getting ready. Karl got up, showered, and we woke Max up at just a few minutes past 9 am so we could get him dresses and ready to go.

Service was to start at 10 am and we got there about 9:40 am, hung out in the car for a few minutes and then headed in. When we walked in everyone was greeting everyone, you know "peace be with you", normally this happens 1/2 way through or towards the end of the service but we just though everyone was really, really nice...so we go and find a spot to sit down and the next thing we know we are doing the offering and singing the last hymn and then it's done. Karl and I were so confused. After the it was done a few people came up to us and welcomed us and we asked if there were two services?? They said no...they always have 9 am services in the summer because they have no air conditioning in the church....we started laughing and explained what had happened....I guess the person that is normally in charge of changing the sign had forgot to do it....

Anyway, it seemed like a really nice little church, and everyone was so nice to us and welcomed us back at the correct time next week. I think we might actually make that service on time!!!

Up Close And Personal...

Here are a few pics of Max that I was able to shoot before he grabbed the camara! Check out his teeth on the bottom...I wish that I could get a pic of the 4 on top that have come in!!!

Fun Was Had By All...

Since I was reprimanded by my mother today for not updating my blog I have squeezed in a few minutes to finally download pics from Carl & Tree's party!! Only a select few have made the blog for your viewing pleasure....LOL!
You can see that as the night wore on the pictures became a little goofier...go figure! I guess that is what happens when you combine friends + music + alcohol!!! HA!

Here is my girl Jill and me at the very beginning of the night...see how clear and focused we are...

Here is one taken not too long after the 1st one....Love you Jilly!!!

Here I am with my brother, Chris, who I cannot remember for the life me what was happening but I guess we were having fun!!!

This was the very next shot...can you feel the love people!! On a side note, have you noticed the humongous blue cup I am carrying around with me?? I will never, ever, ever, ever, drink out of a cup that large again in my lifetime! And let me just say there was rarely a moment that it was empty! Can't say that I am proud of that fact but it's true!

Here is Chris and Karl proving that brothers in law really do love each other...how huge is Karl's smile! Just kills me every time I look at it!! LOL! You can literally see every single tooth! HA HA HA!

Here is Chris and his cutie-pie girlfriend, Sherry. She was a sweetheart...and she had the absolute cutest shoes on...see below!

Last but not least here is a pic of Jilly, Liz, and me, and we all managed to stay standing!! I think that Liz looks just like Natasha Bedingfield....I will have to see if I can find a pic that shows their resemblance.

Sadly I don't have a single pic of Tree, Carl, Karl, and me together! What a shame!! Next year I will have to make a point of getting one!! Much love to all of our Michiganders'. We miss you!!!

Whew....

Well we are back. In the physical sense at least. As far as our mind, well let's just say I can't guarantee that one.

This last weekend was phenomenal - but I am quickly coming to the realization that I can no longer party like I used to. Friday night was great...we went out on the boat, had a few drinks, played cards, just hung out like old times. Saturday was the big day and we had a great time....such a great time that Karl and I don't remember most of it. Can't say that I am too proud to admit that but it's true.

Sunday was hell....hell....hell....hell....need I say more. And to be quite honest Monday wasn't really too great either. There are pictures but at this very moment our suitcase is still sitting on our bedroom floor and I do believe the camera and all it's incriminating evidence is still zipped up tight.

I promise that I will try and get some "approved" pictures on as soon as I can....:)

I'm So Excited....

Yes I know, I sound like The Pointer Sisters, but I do have a reason I am soooooo excited! Our BFF's (best friends forever), a.k.a Carl & Teresa are having a huge summer kickoff party and Karl and I are going!! WOOOO-HOOOOO!

Carl and Teresa are truly like family to us. Carl was the best man in our wedding, Teresa is Max's GodMother....they went on our honeymoon with us....they helped us paint most of our house in Grand Blanc....they have been there through pretty much everything with us and I feel blessed to be able to call them our friends/family.

Mom-Mom is coming down to watch Max and Karl and I are taking a flight out tonight and we will be in Michigan till Monday. We willl also be attending dear little Ava McClouth's baptism - so honored we were invited to share in such a special occasion - all in all it should be a pretty good weekend.

We get to hang out with most of our much-missed friends and also enjoy some husband and wife time! Can't wait....I am sure there will be good photos to be posted once we get back!
Here is a pic of the happy couple on our honeymoon!! Aren't they cute!!!!

Here is another picture of us on our honeymoon....Sorry there is a hand in front of Carl's face. There was another person in the picture so I tried to crop them out and didn't realize that I couldn't get rid of his hand! Still love you Paco!!! I also have to apologize for all the evil looking red-eyes. I tried to get rid of that but for some reason it turned our faces gray??

Cooking Question...

Ok all you chefs out there I have a cooking question. Karl wanted stuffed portobello mushrooms for his father's day dinner, and I found a fantastic recipe on the food network using plum tomatoes and kalamata olives. It turned out pretty good except it took me forever to cut up the olives because they still had the pits in them.

Does anyone know a quick easy way to pit them? Karl wants me to make the recipe again but I would love to find an easier way to do that part. Thanks!

Soooo Cool....

I would just like to say thank you to Val. She is a Blogger Goddess! I was in awe of her blog recently when I saw that she had this cool little ticker at the top- a countdown until she went to her Tastefully Simple Nationals. THEN...I noticed that she had some rockin' music playing while I was reading her clever dialogue....so I decided to pay her the ultimate compliment - I copied her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ticker is not for Tastefully Simple but for Mary Kay. I am going to what they call Seminar. It's basically their end of year Awards Night as well as some kick-a** training. What... There may be little eyes reading this!! LOL!

Anyway I just thought I would say a big THANK YOU to my co-blogger over in The Nuthouse! Hope I did you justice!!

Happy Father's Day!

Today was Karl's very first official Father's Day...and do you know what he did. He worked, I don't mean at his actual job, I mean here at the house. We have been planning on planting a garden so that we can have our very own fresh veggies and other things; pumpkins, green beans, peas, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and watermelon. But because spring is always the busiest for him we have not been able to finish rotor-tilling the area we wanted to plant in. We got it started but then last week we hit 100' days and let's face it we weren't doing much but planting ourselves in front of the air conditioner.

Today it was slightly overcast and the temperature was decent so while Max took his first nap of the day we both high-tailed it outside and got to work. Karl's finished tilling and I was raking all the clumps of grass out. Needless to say Max woke up before we were done but Karl, being the best hubbie of all time, finished it. I brought Max out and while he was in his little play-pen outside (in the shade or course) we planted, then watered, and just made it look all cute. We even had little sticks so we knew what was what!

Later that afternoon after Max woke up from his afternoon nap we were outside watering the rest of the plants and I was able to snap a few pictures....quite adorable ones I might add!!

Max was in heaven helping Karl water...

He must have sat there with his mouth wide open for about 10 minutes, just hysterical!

And this one is by far my favorite...it even made it to my desktop! Both of them were soaked afterwards!! Check out Karl's face...both of them had their eyes squeezed tight!

A New Do...

As many of you know I love to do different things with my hair...I usually grow it out and then cut it, or I change the color. But for the last 5 years it has primarily been blonde....but I was extremely bored with it so I took the plunge and colored it. I love it, Karl would of course prefer me blonde but he seems to be ok with it...What do you think?

Max and I were standing in front of the air conditioner here...you can almost see his fuzzy blonde hair blowing in wind! LOL!

Fun In The Sun...

Uncle Danny bought Max a cute little swimming pool, with an even cuter sun shade on it. Max does love the water but he was not too keen on this little pool....that may have been because he took a nose dive not 2 seconds after he got in...

Here are some pics prior to the nose-dive when he was still deciding whether or not he liked it..

MaryKay Cosmetics Commercial - NEW

I absolutely love this compact! AND...next month they are coming out with a larger one so it will hold all my shadow, blush, AND eyeline, mascara, lip gloss/stick. The whole gammit. No more searching for something in different cases! I can't wait!!

Just Hangin' Out

Here is Max and I playing outside. He was not too sure about the swing when we first got it but now he is starting to like it....sorry about my annoying dialog, I even annoyed myself listening to it! LOL!

Memorial Day Weekend...

I have been meaning to get on the computer and put some new stuff on the blog but it seems that my day gets away from me and then I realize that it's 10 pm and I am exhausted and coming up with witty things to write about just escape me.

BUT I do have some cute recent pictures of Max and Friends from Memorial Day Weekend. We met up with The Rosvally Family....Harry & Linda, and their son David and his wife Jennifer. They also have a new little addition, Tyler. He is only 5 weeks old and soooo cute, and tiny! I really can't even remember Max being that small, but I know that he was. :) Anyway here are some cute pics....

Here is Jen, Tyler, Karl, and Max....

Here is the whole group, minus Harry, he was taking the picture....you can see that Max just refused to look at the camera.....

Here is one of the three of us...I am not sure what I was looking at but at least I am smiling. :)

Here is one of Max's favorite past times...opening and closing drawers. Any drawer that he can get his hands on. He is not picky!

Here is another one. Playing with the dog dish. I have to take the water away every day otherwise Max would be immersed in it.

I just took this one this morning. I thought it was hilarious. You can see that he is teething on anything he can get his hands on....He was following the cat under the table and I guess decided that he wanted a snack!!
